View Full Version : Running vinyl again!
Finally got a new cartridge after what...3 years? I went with a Sumiko Pearl...yeah, I know there's prolly better, but sounds better than what I had (Shure).
Now I gotta get some decent vinyl - I only have about 10 LPs and they're all that Dynaflex ****.

I'm not familiar with it, but I'll look it up later. Enjoy the vinyl!
It is a turntable sold way way back in the early '70s by RatShack. It is a surprisingly good TT...very very sturdy. Its an autoTT, and the auto mechanism looks like a fricken clock. It needs some work: variable pitch control doesn't work, the RPM lever is stuck in 33-1/3, and the auto off function works when it wants to...other than that;) It has a big thick cast aluminum plater whose bearings are still good (the thing could just floats). The deck/chassis is steel, the tone arm is OK.
Here's a pic I found: http://search.yahoo.com/search?ei=utf-8&fr=slv8-mcafee&p=realistic%20elac%20miracord%2046&type=

Hey Todd, I own an Elac, and really like it. I also have an owner's manual to a 46 if you want a copy. Also, PM me your tastes in music. I got tons of vinyl laying around. I can do something about expanding your collection a little.

Yeah I know - we talked on AK before about it...a copy of the manual would be swell. I'll PM you with my addy. My neighbor has a ton of vinyl. I want to get a A-D convertor to rip some of his stuff. What method of ripping do you use?
