How do you make a good power cord? Any good DIY sites for that?

Here's a tutorial:

The connectors and cable you use are up to you and how much you wish to spend. Try looking at:

Here's (http://diyaudioprojects.com/Power/diyMains/) another. I used that recipe from components purchased from Parts Express. Belden 83803 is double shielded 12 gauge with teflon jacketing.

I made a couple of cables basically identical except for the Techflex sleeving. I hate Belden 83803 though: it's brutally stiff.

Brutally stiff? By comparison to a Harmonic Technology Magic cord, 83803 is a wimp. Pick it up and the wire flops. The Harmonic Tech cable is 6 gauge and maintains any shape! Here I'm holding the one that lives behind the right speaker where the amp is directly behind the outlet. I had to employ a gradual bend to loop up, over and back down. Coiling is impossible. Putting it back in place required no bending or re-alignment. :)

I'm going to usedcable.com this coming weekend. I'll have a couple of different power cords to listen to all next week. The inventory there changes rapidly so I won't know what I'm getting until I get there.
