Pardon the goofy humor, I am a noob to these here parts. Have been an off & on audiophile for years and just now getting back into Vinyl. I have done some speaker design and am a semi-professional wood turner (who dreams of turning spherical speakers - I know it's been done). I contribute my part of the family support mainly as a marital therapist. I would really like to know whether it would be of any benefit to splice a good interconnect into the junk cable (external) of my soon to be modified Rega RB250 tonearm? Cheers, Mother Hubbard.

Yes

One of the major upgrades for the Rega 250 is to have it rewired. Essentially the Arm 1 and 2 from Audio Note are rewired Rega 250 arms. Dealers or you can do this yourself and of course Audio Note is not the only company who has their own wiring. I have purchased the ARM 3 with one of their better wires. Along with an upgrade to the bearing assembly which will also be made soon it's going to be quite a great tonearm - expensive but so be it. http://www.audionote.co.uk/products/analogue/arm_three_01.shtml

My RB250 was rewired with the Incognito wiring harness. I have been very pleased. They now have a silver version available. I paid to have mine rerired but the instructions looked easy enough with the RB 250.

The wire is continuous from the cartridge clips to the rca plugs. The original wire had several more solder joints and different thickness of wires. The cartridge clips are Cardas clips which are superior to the Rega clips.
