Man, it was almost perfect here today - blue skies, sunny, 78 degrees. The azaleas, Bradford Pears, Red Buds, tulips, and daffodils are in bloom. We hosted a cookout with about 20 friends and about 20 kids too. We played volleyball, badminton, frisbee golf, 3 on 3 basketball, tossed a football around. I kept the cd changer spinning on the whole house music system which pipes music outside (front and back of the house). No one mentioned TV, video games, NCAA basketball etc. This is how Saturdays should be spent - with friends outside having fun.

What are you guys and gals into this weekend?

It was actually a pretty nice day today. Sunny and 55. Can't beat that for a late March day in Michigan.

Fired up the grill and threw on a couple of New York strips. Sauteed some shrooms and nuked some taters. Great meal.

Other than that, the day was fairly uneventful.

NP: Renaissance - Ashes Are Burning. Just got this in the mail today.

Sounds like a great way to spend a day JD.

I am decompressing after 3 weeks on the road and doing nothing that requires much in the way of social skills.. Got up at 9 and went with Mrs. Nasty and her sister to a few estate sales. We all picked up a few things, I got about 8 old LPs, in near mint shape (2 sealed), mostly jazz.

Then came home and played 3 sets of tennis on a darn near perfect Dallas afternoon with my old fart USTA team (We won, for a change, 3 lines to 0). Got home and fired up the barbie, threw on 3 NY Strips for us and knocked off 2 margaritas on the deck.

Music listened to today, at various times was killer, Uncle Tupello's Anodyne, Norah Jones-Feels Like Home, Wilco-Being There, and Linda Thompson-Fashionably Late (my least fav but still good in parts). Currently watching a good flcik, Honeymoon In Vegas for the tenth time at least. Love the music and more than a few great lines,i.e., "What are you gonna do, put me in airport jail?"

Thats it here at Casa Nasty. Thunderstorms moving in from the northwest shortly. Going to bed early.

The weather here pretty much sucked. After getting a taste of spring two weeks ago, we've now had a couple small snowstorms and, in general, crappy weather. I can't wait for mid 70 temps and outdoor fun.

My kids were in town yesterday so we went out to dinner at a very nice local restaurant. It used to be a dive bar but some guy who moved here from Philly a few years back totally gutted the place and made it into a very chic bistro. The food was very good and we expect to go back. They don't have a liquor license and can sell only beer, so we brought a couple bottles of wine.

Anyway, that about sums up my weekend. Today is going to be laid-back after a tough week of work for me and the wife. I'm saving some tunes to my hard drive and plan to make a mellow comp that's suitable for her coffee shop. She really liked the last one I made specifically for her and I think she'll like this one even more since I'm taking more time with it. You guys would probably have a tough time with it since it's filled with familiar tunes that are "radio friendly" with no hard edges. Trust me on that!

It was beautiful in Atlanta.

I got up at 6:00 AM to play with Carter.

Then he and his mom went out and Trevor and I went to cd stores and all, didn't buy anything, then went to the Mall and Gaylans had this outdoor thing going in the parking lot, they had tons of stuff going on and Trev got to drive these new little haul ass go kart things, he musta done 100 laps before they made him stop, it was cool to watch him have so much fun, got to shoot paintball guns, ride bikes, roller blades, etc.

Then I went to the driving range and pounded a medium bucket of balls to prepare for next weekend's company golf tournament.

Then we went out last night for Mexican with another couple and we had fun then I went over to Marks and we played Tiger Woods Golf 2004 on Gamecube, I played horribly.

Today is ride ride ride day it is cool and clear and windy.

There's not many things on this Earth that I enjoy more than a spring-time cookout with friends and family, so it sounds like you had a really nice day. It's been pretty nice and spring-like around here as well. I'm in the midst of remodeling, so I spent the weekend thus far working on the house. I've been hanging all new doors, which isn't real easy. Lots of planing and routing and drilling and stuff. Other than that, I went and saw me some Sonic Youth on Thursday, which was mucho bueno.

Well, I'm glad that someone is having some weather good enough to enjoy being outside. We had a nice taste of spring a couple of weeks ago but the temperatures have dropped again. We had some snow flurries this morning.

We spent our weekend on a nice little romantic getaway at Niagara-On-The-Lake. NOTL is a pretty little tourist town about 20 minutes away from Niagara Falls and in the heart of the Ontario wine country. There are 100s of vinyards in the area and some very fine wineries. Yesterday was raining, so we decided that it was a good day to visit some of these fine wineries and do some taste testing. Yum. :p <== this is me licking my chops.

We reserved our purchases and managed to get away with only eight bottles. Usually, after visiting this area, we come home with substantially more. But we're lucky in that this town is only an hour and half drive away and we plan on going back in warmer months to restock. We also purchased some jam as there is a wonderful little place in NOTL that makes the best jam with no preservatives and all natural ingredients.

We did the tourist thing and went to Niagara Falls and had dinner at Planet Hollywood (not very romantic, I know ;) ). Then, we spent a couple of hours at Casino Niagara where I broke even and Hubby walked out $5 richer. :D

We woke up to sunny but c-c-c-c-old weather this morning and, after a nice breakfast, spent a few hours at an outlet mall, where I made a few small purchases. Now we're back home and just chillin'.

Go ahead & rub it in...

It's gonna be a while before there's any outside grillin goin on here (even if it WAS spring on saturday). It snowed every (stinkin') day last week, and tonight it's supposed to go down to 15 degrees.

That's the back yard, and there's actually a stone wall there leading down to an outside fireplace a little further back, between the trees.... believe it or not. 78 degrees? Gimme a break.

Oh well... at least both our teams (UConn) will be in the sweet-16. (girls play again tomorrow)
