Adam Sandler doing a pretty cool copy of Like A Hurricane on Letterman.

Waddy Wachtel on guitar, too. :7:

Pretty good. But it's hard to take him seriously. I kept waiting for the punchline.

Oh, you're just jealous because your name isn't Waddy.

Sounds like a porn name. :skep: :ihih:

I remember an old Guitar Player magazine, around the time when Steve Vai first hit the scene, with Steve making some comments on Waddy. He said something to the effect that when he first heard the solo to "Oh Sherri" he thought it shiite but upon further inspection found it brilliant. Waddy always plays to fit the song. O' course, when the songs shiite...

Waddy played on Buckingham Nicks only album

Sandler is indeed hard to take seriously. Here, he sounds like he's really impersonating Neil, rather than actually doing a cover.

I don't understand what Letterman was saying, "this is a great idea" - what, a covers album?
Where ya been Dave?

I looked at this over at Amazon, and it looks like an ecclectic group of bands and songs, sans Sandler. I listened to a few samples - Mastodon doing ZZ Top (that's pronounced zee zee FA, Barry) Just Got Paid, which wasn't half bad. The Used doing Talking Heads' Burning Down The House, which sounded pretty good, and The Flaming Lips doing Borderline...yes, that Borderline, which sounds altogether weird.

I'm sure its a fine fine effort...

FOR ME TO POOP ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...chords on an electric. He may as well join the Bacon Brothers. Without Waddy and the boys backing him, he's got nuthin'. Stick to acting Adam. On second thought....

I was thinkin the same thing...hell, give me Waddy Wachtel and the Late Night backing band and I can warble a Neil Young tune.

That Sandler is one fortunate dude, getting to make a living the way he does. He's a tall skinny version of Buddy Hacket.

...and Adam Sandler is no Buddy Hackett. Seriously though, if you meant in the acting sense, I would agree, but Buddy was a total hoot as a stand-up comic. In that sense, I think he wallops Sandler.
