I just bought an Athen P300 subwoofer for my stereo system. I don't want to spend a ton of cash on a cable, but I noticed I can get some decent deals on ebay. Any ways...I looked at an Acoutstic Research pro-series sub cable and some of the entry level Monster THX cables. It looks like I could get the AR cable cheaper than the Monster. Which one would you recomend? Here are the product links:

Either one will do the job well. Your instincts about not wanting to spend a ton of cash on cables are correct. Make your selection based on price. Before bidding, check these prices from Parts Express, a reputable online retailer that sells AR, Monster, and Dayton a lower priced house brand:

Am I going to need a Y-connector to hook up my sub? I don't actually have the sub yet (it is on order). I was looking at the online manual and it seems like I don't need it, but I want to check with you guys first.

I have a Canton AS 25. It also has a L and R audio input. I didn't get a Y cable and just plugged it into the Left input plug. Subwoofers function only in Mono mode, so you shouldn't need a Y cable.

Oops, I forgot to follow up with my post and say that I found the solution to my question. First off, I know subs are mono and second, I was reading through the online manual and noticed that it said you should only use one of the two RCA input jacks at a time (i.e. use Direct In or Sub In, but not both). Thanks any ways.

I know it isn't as long as you needed, but Audio Advisor is selling an Audio Quest 6 meter (about 20' ?) sub cable for $29.
