Im looking to purchase a pair of low budget but decent speakers, my choices so far are Polk Audio T15 or Tsi 100,Energy C -100 and the floorstanding Sony SS-F5000. At this time I am only able to audition the Polks that sound pretty good, ive heard Energy speakers in the past and was always impressed with there sound. The Sony floorstanding speakers are very cheap and comes with an 8 inch woofer , there also getting good reviews. I know the Sony's will give more bass but will I have to sacrifice overall sound quality ?

What is your budget? Stereo only? Music only?

Audio Advisor has the Energy C-300 floor standers on sale for $260pr. If you can afford them that would be the way to go. You wont have to spend an additional $100 for speaker stands.
Otherwise go with the C-100's.

I have chosen to go with the Energy C-100s . Im also deciding between the Energy ESW8 Subwoofer and the Polk Audio PSW10. I think the Energy would be best.Thanx for the help guys.

I'm for sticking with a speaker line. I also feel that cheaper subs tend to sound better with smaller drivers as opposed to larger ones. Cheap subs tend to use small magnets and the larger drivers tend to sound muddy from the one's that I have heard.

I guess the bigger question is how big is your room?

The room 12x15 in size and is upstairs in the house.I really do like the Energy ESW8 sub. Do you think its powerful enough for this size room? Is it ok to have 2 subwoofers ?

I think the Energy ESW8 will have more than enough power for this size room. In my own experience...my room is just about this size...I've generally kept the volume on my 8-inch subwoofer turned only about a third of the way up for music purposes. In another room, we have a system primarily for home theater in a similar-sized room. We keep that 8-inch sub's volume at about halfway up.

One thing to be aware of -- Since you're upstairs, I suppose your floor must be wood construction. Some of these lower frequencies will cause quite a bit of vibration in the floor. My floor's construction is lighter than most, but it can be a significant issue. Music can sound out of control if the sub is up too high.
