i have a panasonic sa-he75 in my room.

and it has a setting called "filter" i can select either 100, 150, or 200. there is basically nothign on it in the manual. i was just wondering what i should have mine set to? im using the default "100" right now. ive switched through them all but they all sound the same. except 200 has a slight change when i go from 100 to 200, i dont know what it is though, doesnt sound worse or better, just something different.

some info

my mains are towers, dual 6.5 woofer, 1 inch tweeter

center - dual 5.5 woofer, 1 inch tweeter.

rears. single 5.5 woofer, and 1 inch tweet.

sub woofer is 10 inch

dvd player to amp is monster fibre optic if that makes a difference lol, might as well put out all the info i can think of.

yea thats what i thought to, but it has its own subwoofer volume control and setup that does all that.

becuase its called "filter" im guessing like something to do with where the centre or fronts split the sound or play only above or below the selected number. something like that

what do you think i should keep the stock 100 number?

I used to have a technics receiver, basically the same as what you have. Set it at 100 and what ever speakers you set as small they will not reproduce below 100. Even though you have mains with dual 6.5 inch woofers I personally would set all speakers to small, filter at 100 and on your sub turn the crossover dial to its highest setting that way you get the sub crossover out of the way. The power supply on that receiver is not that big so I would not set your mains as large, it will perform better set at small.

i get more bass out of them when there set to large, power is not a problem for me. my room is very small for a 5.1 system. its like a 14-15 foot square. so it goes plenty loud for in there. about turning the sub up to the highest setting whys that? i have it on almost the lowest right now, about 45 - 50. if i turn it up all the way when people talk it even makes bass out of that. and i dont like that, i only like subs to do the major stuff.
