Is there an inexpensive way to get an audio and component video output from a computer. what i would like to do is use a laptop or desktop to all my media including movies. i want to use the laptop as a source to my home theater but i would like component video. also i dont want the volume control on the pc itself to operate the outputs. see i tried hooking the line out on my hp to and input on my a/v reciever and i had a gain issue eather to much or not enough. also the graphic eq on the windows media player seemed to have a class. anyway it sounded horible.

Computers are now available with HDMI outputs. That will give you digital audio and video on the same cable and should solve all your problems. Digital solves all problems.

Does your laptop have a free PC Card slot?

If not, here you go:

or
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.15127
or
http://www.everythingusb.com/blackmagic-usb-video-recorder-14581.html
and there are many others. Just Google "USB to Component Video"
