We haven't had one of these threads in a while.
My week went something like this:

Funny, on the way to work I was thinking that I'd start a Tuesday thread today. But then things went awry and I forgot.
I've haven't actually been listening to much this week, but of note is a little band called Tokyo Police Club. I picked up their 2006 EP, A Lesson in Crime, a little while ago and it's quite good. They have full-length CD out now that I'm curious about. The vocalist reminds me a little of Death Cab For Cutie, but they are much higher energy. AMG lists Tapes 'n' Tapes as a similar artist.
Otherwise I've been spinning:
Ryan Adams - Cold Roses
Doc Watson - Southbound and Doc Watson
Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid

Me listen to:
Asobi Seksu - Hush
John Frusciante - The Empyrean
a buncha jazz from 1959 (Brubeck, Davis, Coltrane, Mingus, Evans)
and just fer old times sake: BOC - Spectres

I been catching up on some rock from the last decade I never got around to checking out.
Queens of the Stone Age - bought the first 4 albums from a pawn shop for $12 total. Holy crap how did I miss these guys? I only ever heard their singles, who know the albums were so good!!!
Hurt, Vol. II. Not bad.
Also, Eric Bibb - The Spirit and the Blues and Home to Me...some pretty soulful bluesy stuff by a great guy.

Sloshy - I'm curious about that Cymbals eat Guitars album; what's the verdict?
Does that screen capture mean that you are listening to all/most of your main system listening through your computer now? I'm in the process of transferring a ****-load of vinyl to digital, (still haven't picked-up a Squeezebox yet though it's coming soon). My last week listens...
The Glands
Kate & Anna McGarrigle - The Dancer with Bruised Knees
Clapton - Greatest Hits
Guadalcanal Diary - Walking in the Shadow of the Big Man
The Clean - Anthology (Disc 2)
Gob - The World according to Gob
Butless Chaps - Cartography
Dandy Warhols - 13 Tales...
Cut Copy - In Ghost Colours
Black Uhuru - Anthem
Emmylou Harris - Red Dirt Girl
Interpol - Our Love to Admire
Eric's Trip - Forever Again
Guided by Voices - Vampire on Titus
For Against - December
The Skydiggers - Restless
Not a whole lot but Govt Mule- Deep End and a Greg Lake comp I got from a dude in Denmark who posted here a few years back.
Good mix of tunes from ELPalmer, ELPowel, Greg Lake, and King Crimson.
Greg's vocals on tunes like "It Hurts", "Touch and Go", "C'est La Vie", and "I Don't Know Why I Still Love You" are just fabulous.

Sloshy - I'm curious about that Cymbals eat Guitars album; what's the verdict? To tell the truth I haven't had time to really listen to it. I'll PM you a little something in a bit. edit: Ah, to hell with it! linky (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?9q2yuqoikje)

I'm in the process of transferring a ****-load of vinyl to digital, (still haven't picked-up a Squeezebox yet though it's coming soon).Yeah, my computer is my main source. Mostly I listen via my Roku SoundBridges on the big system or in my bedroom. In my home office I have the PC connected via coax digital to an ancient (but good sounding) Sony ES pre/pro/DAC with a little Pioneer Elite integrated amp driving some nice Mission standmount speakers. A pretty nice sounding system, especially considering how little I spent on it. The computer fans are a little annoying but it sure beats the hell out of computer speakers! :)
I had to upgrade to Vista a few months back (got tired of hacking the registry in my copied version of XP every few months) and was pleasantly surprised to see Vista doesn't upconvert 44.1kHz (unlike XP which changes it to 48kHz).
I can't even remember the last time I played a CD. Still do vinyl and SACD but not nearly as often as I used to.

Busy, busy week but I managed to actually get into the spirit of things for a minute with office tunes from The New Orleans Social Club and Putumayo...

Still separated from the bulk of my tune library I have been relying on the kindenss of strangers, past and present. Spun some good tunes from the 3LB YEC, and those Obner "Round" compies provided by Finche. Been diggin' on Steve Klasson and, particularly, Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson.

I did pick up some new stuff Tuesday night:
the new Animal Collective, and a new one from good ol' SubPop, new/old band Vetiver with their label debut of Tight Knit, which is more pop this time around, and less coffee house indie-folk. Fans of their intentionally eccentric style on earlier albums might find it a tad mainstream, but I like it - not as sparcely arranged as usual, but not over produced or too slick either; just good pop/rock.

The only "Fish Out of Water" I have heard recently is by Mudvayne...
My week included some Boxer Rebellion, Metric, Asobi, New Pornographers, Pure Reason Revolution, Kings of Leon, The Veronicas, Lil' Wayne, & of course, every week of my life (currently) includes a little Mudvanye, who I am dying to see in concert...
Some Hinder, Tool, Saving Abel, Local H, Soundgarden & Zombie, Rob that is.
No Jazz hands here...

Sugar, if you get a chance see Mudvayne. They put on a good show last week...though not better than Avenged Sevenfold the night before or Eyes On Fire the night after....
