Its been so freaking slow on the forum lately so I'll start a new thread.

So what's on your Christmas or Holiday wish list? Here's mine:

The new Oppo BRP if it's ever released

New Marantz SA8003 SACDP

Van Alstine Hybrid DAC my #1 choice. I'll probably buy this or the Marantz once I sell my Cambridge Audio 840c-$950 if anyone is interested in it. (the new price is going up $200 next week to $1595)

Several XRCD24's from eastwindimports.com or Cd universe- this is what I'll probably get.

Panny 42"-50" plasma TV

A new car, Acura TL, VW EOS convertable or Saturn Skye Redline

better hurry up on the Sky, GM announced this week that they are canceling the G8 and solstice/sky when the remodel is due in 5 years... YAY CAFE standards :(

my wish list is
- a decent sub
- 1080p 55"+
- winning lotto ticket ;)

Hmmm.... Probably:

A Musical Fidelity X-CAN V8 heaphone amplifier to drive the AKG K701 headphones I ordered yesterday...

&

A Musical Fidelity V-DAC to stick between the X-CAN V8 and my Squeezebox....

They priced the Skye too high and they cant give away the Solstice here in the Twin Cities. The Turbo Solstice are going for $24K and the Turbo Skye's for $32K for basically the same car. The non turbo models have POS engines, 177HP, weak, sluggish, noisy and rough running. The Turbo's are 268HP smooth and fun to drive-0-60mph at 5.3 seconds. The skye handles like a dream and beat out a porsche boxster around a track.

GM's in deep doodoo if they are cancelling the G8 and Skye/Solstice. The styling on the G8 is boring just like most of the GM cars. I dont understand why they cant design a good and cool looking mass market car. Auto workers benefits are killing the big 3 US automakers. They just cant compete in quality and price compared to the asian manufacturers!

Nice Ajani, let us know how you like the head phones. I'm thinking about getting a pair for late night listening.

By the way, how's the weather in St. Kitts? My wife and I have always thought about vacationing there. I've heard its expensive to vacation there.

...
... beggers would ride. That was an expression of my late grandmother.

My real Xmas wish list consists of about 40 CDs all registered at Arkiv Music. Of that list my family may deign to give me half a dozen or so.

My "expanded" list includes a new DAC. There is an abundance of candidates with is no urgency to decide at the moment:

Cambridge DacMagic
MHDT Lab non-oversampling -- Havana, Paradisea+, or Constantine+
Monarchy NM24
PS Audio DAC III
AVA Insight or Ultra, pending blackraven's final review.Another item on the expanded list: Panasonic TH-46PZ80 46" 1080p plasma HDTV.

I am wishing for about 2 weeks off. I haven't had any real vacation time since, well, last Christmas and man is it ever weighing on me now. I've had the busiest year of my life. 2 weeks off sounds precious.

Other than that, I hope Santa Kex bring me a new a/v receiver or processor in time for the holidays so I can finally step into the new hi-rez audio world when watching BluRays. .I'm eyeballing offerings from Outlaw, Emotiva, Yamaha, and Onkyo. We'll see how it goes.

I wish to get through the season without anymore major problems. The last couple of years, the holidays have brought us bad news. Can I just take this one off?

If not, I'll take that TL that was offered.

And my A/V gift to me will be a BFD. I think I've made some pretty significant acoustic improvements to my living room this weekend, and my motivation to get the rest of the panels together has picked up so by December I should be ready for it. Get ready for lottsa questions Kex & L.J.! :yesnod:

Good luck to you GM.

Oh OK. I know a few ladies who might be willing to give you a tumble.

Actually, I do know a few nice girls, but they aren't into the whole casual sex thing. How do you feel about pen pals?:1:

Back to the A/V wishlist...

Something to replace my CD/DVD changer...

If I asked what player would do the best job of playing my regular CD's, a few SACD's and a couple of DVD-A's that I own, y'all would say Oppo wouldn't you?

I got all the toys I ever wanted and the girl to share these toys with.

With over 300 CD's, I can not think of one that I may be lacking of.

HMMMM!!!!!!

I get to enjoy live music a couple times a month and I know I will enjoy a few this holiday season.
Money is something that I can use more of...but we do not give each other money, it's one of the rules we set many years back.

I know that I will be suprise with what I will get, she is always good for that. Otherwize...

...peace, love and happiness to all is all that I can think of.

I'll definitely give feedback on how the phones perform... And an update after I get a headphone amp...

The weather in St Kitts is great... it's nice and warm all year round.... and not too expensive... if you want an idea of prices, you should be able to find info on the Marriot's website (since we have a Marriot in St Kitts)... For expensive you could try the Four Seasons (on the neighboring island Nevis)

It's a hard one not to recommend. But here is another excellent one, the Cambridge Audio DVD99. I believe Audio Advisor has them for $299.

Because the stores are already begining to put up Christmas decorations and my kids are already telling my wife and I what they would like for Christmas.

I was also trying to stimulate some conversation on the forum, its slow lately:)

My wife and I always have "The Talk" about how much to spend on Christmas for the kids and agree on an amount. Then on Christmas day she brings out all these other hidden presents and has gone way over budget.

At our house, we have X-mas decorations going up in September. In the Philippines, they don't have a Halloween or Thanksgiving so they start thinking about X-mas much sooner than we do. We end up with a mix of X-mas, Halloween and Thanksgiving decoration up this time of year. It's taken me a few years to get used to it.

At least my wife doesn't start bugging me to put up the lights until after Halloween now.
