My local audio/video company wants to sell me some speakers that are dealer bought only, for my home theatre system. For Fronts and Centers TruAudio Tru-Cinema Model TC465 LCR(800$/ea),
Rears R2-8 in ceilings(650$/pair), and Tru Cinema TC-12 Sub-woofer(1500$). Has anyone ever heard of these? Are they any good? Is there something better out there for the price?

See the TruAudio website (http://www.truaudio.com/index.asp). It sounds like they are specialists in custom installation and in-wall speakers. They do, however, have a reasonably comprehensive line of cabinetted speakers as well.

As for the quality, who knows? I'd never heard of them before today. The prices aren't cheap, e.g. $1600 for a pair of TC465's, so you might hope for quality. But that's the problem: what assurance do you have? Before I considered the TruAudio any further I'd be sure to listen to serveral of the better know and well-reputed brands, e.g. Paradigm, PSB, NHT, Monitor Audio, Quad, Usher, Epos, (to name only a few).

I'll 2nd what Feanor said... In that price range you have a wide range of very good speakers... I wouldn't buy anything before listening to some of the more popular brands (the ones feanor mentioned plus B&W, Totem, KEF, Energy, Revel and the list goes on and on)... Try and audition at least a few of the popular brands...

Tru Audio Spks. I purchased a pair of Resolve SUR.1 for my rear ch suround, they slam, they were exspensive but I'm very happy I went with them. I reconfigured my set-up (for testing only) to make them my mains, incredible, if you have the $, you should concider them. I see most all of you have never heard of them.
