View Full Version : Any comments on Rotel RSX-1067?
Helping a friend put together a HT system based on the Dynaudio Audience speaker line. Without breaking the bank, this looks like a nice piece with better power ratings than Denon and Marantz of similar price.
Does anyone have the Rotel or have auditioned it? Any comments or feedback is appreciated.

The RSX-1067 is an excellent receiver, but very dated.. keep in mind this model was released in 2004 and has no HDMI inputs. For the money, there are a number of receivers I'd consider before the Rotel, especially with all the developments in home theater over the past 4 years (HDMI 1.3a, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, Audyssey, Silicon Optix HQV video processing, etc)
That being said, I've auditioned the receiver with Monitor Audio Silver Series and B&W 700's and came away impressed. Would have loved her in my home theater four years ago ;)

What can you recommend at similar price point? I think I heard a newer model is coming but maybe not soon enough. Thanks for the reply.

Arcam AVR350, Integra DTR-8.8 or Marantz SR8002 would be my top picks.. the Arcam is especially nice if you are integrating into a 2-channel audio system, the only caveat being that it does not decode audio over HDMI (you would need 7.1 analogue to take full advantage of the new audio formats)
