In the search for a pair of quality headphones I've been using a pair of sony MDR-EX55/BLK for at least 3-4 years now. I've had to replace them a few times because the rubber cord wears off of the wire. Any recommendations for a pair of similarly price headphones that have a cloth/mesh cord instead of rubber?

I've been looking at some shure's and the v-moda's but haven't been able to find if the cord is made out of cloth/mesh or not.

Not sure if this would help, but stethoscopes get in the way at times; one of the solutions is to cover the tubes with cloth. Here's a site to give you the idea....
