I am glad to be back for a bit. I recently received some new additions to my vinyl collection and thought i would share.

Fats Domino "1980" factory sealed. the output of this pressing is amazing.
jazz at preservation hall: "the George Lewis band of New Orleans" in almost perfect condition
Al hurt: "that honey horn sound" and "Al (he's the king) hurt and his band" in very good condition.
"Dr. John the night tripper", factory sealed. a very interesting recording. very trippy.

the fats domino is amazing. I highly recommend this album.

what have been your latest additions?
any opinion on my latest?

I wish I had caught him at the NOLA Jazz Fest, since he's there every year, since he won't be with us forever.

As for Dr. John, he embodies the New Orleans sound and I really dig his style, but I don't own anything of his either, although I have a couple cds on which he makes an appearance, most notably 'The Last Waltz' on which he played 'Such a Night'. Great song and a great performer.

Swish - you deserved a response to your post dude

I've recently acquired about 150 LP and 400+ 45s for $40. Can anyone say LP Elbow?

Kudos to herm for opening a seal to enjoy music. LP does no good, if it doesnt get played.

STICKS!!!!!!!!

Hey Hermy,

Good to see somebody from Houghton-Hancock diggin' the tunes.

Not much on Fats, that was before my time, but I love me some Dr. John. Everybody's down with "Gumbo" but if you get a chance check out Creole Moon which is fantastic.
