I recently bought a Harmon Kardon complete home theater system with AVR 347 receiver, full surround speaker sys and HK DVD player. I have a newer (1 yr) Phillips 37 inch LCD-HDTV, also Cox cable HDTV box (Scientific Atlanta).

When the HDMI is hooked from DVD and set top box to reciever and then a 25 foot HDMI cabe is run to the TV monitor, the picture is intermittently lost. It usually stays for a few minutes at first, then degrades to pixellation or just snow. This then happens intermittently over time, alternating between perfect picture and sound, to the above. This also happens when using DVD through receiver. Note: this receiver has HDMI "pass through" so is not suppose to alter a 1040 signal.

Direct DVD to TV and direct set top box to TV work fine. Surround sound through recievr alone works fine.

Help!!??

when you test direct dvd to tv are you using the 25 foot cable too?

i'm thinking that might be the problem, i would start by testing a shorter run, or if that's not possible a different cable (just make sure you can return it).

that's where i would look first anyway.

Get a BJC HDMI cable from www.bluejeanscable.com This cable is made for runs over 15'. Its an excellent cable. I have the F2 cable which is for less than 15' and its very well made. BJC series 1 cable is rated for at least 125'.
You can talk to the bluejeans support if you have any questions.
