As someone who was once a 17-yr-old girl (although at 17 I would have totally dismissed this band in favour of Iron Maiden), I feel qualified to start this thread over.
I bought this disk on Wednesday. But before I could open it I was graced with a download. So I've been spinning the d/l and not really digging it too much. I'm debating taking the CD back. I haven't quite made up my mind though.
I loved Transatlanticism and Plans, but this one just isn't clicking with me.

...jumped the shark, but I think they took a downturn, if not a nosedive, after signing that major label deal with Atlantic. Funny how an indie band 'makes it' with a Platinum record, then falls by the wayside. There's just too much music out there that blows them away, at least to my ears. I would take that cd back to the store then dispose of that download properly.

I have to say that I'm a little surprised to hear you say that when you're the one who introduced me to this band by sending me Transatlanticism. I didn't think that Plans was much of a digression.
But I think that I will return this latest release. I have to start being a little more discerning in what I purchase. I'm just spending way too much dinero on CDs.

...and bought Plans when it was first released, but I probably listened to it only a few times. It just didn't do anything for me and the band's commercialism starting getting to me. When was the last time you saw much discussion about Death Cab? If there were any posts, I must have missed them.

I think that there were a number of positive discussions here when Plans came out. At least I don't recall any overly negative discussions. I don't remember anyone showing a real hate on for it at the time. Sure DCFC hasn't been discussed much here lately, but for that matter, what has? The threads with the most replies are about wine and hockey.

Well, the Devil knows what he knows ... http://www.mediafire.com/?tm1g2bljtzt :)
Won't someone please turn out the light
bring on the night
turn off the consequences ...
edit: uh oh, am I derailing another DCFC thread? Sorry, I just don't like to make my own threads because they get no response, so I piggyback http://www.clipartof.com/images/emoticons/xsmall2/167_pig.gif

Sensitive huh, but I guess most 17 year old girls are
Yea, it is kind of a sleepy tune, kind of a sleepy record. Kind of a sleepy thread. So what happened to the CRS that Rae was putting together? Where'd he go? Guess he was gonna be moving, so maybe got lost?
Speaking of lost, finally got a chance to see an episode last night. Wow, that show sure has gotten weird and disjointed, huh?

Nah, not sensitive. Just trying to fend off the boredom of a Friday afternoon, in the office, before a long weekend.
Lost has, indeed, turned into a very strange journey. It's certainly not about a plane crash anymore...if it ever was.
There's a Lost thread on the Fave Films forum (actually there's a thread for each of the last three seasons) if you care to read it...which you probably don't. Unless, of course, you're in the same bored position that I am at the moment.
