this site is starting to take over my life....:eek6: some body help me and talk more about speakers and such tell me about the interconnects youve made... how bout those brand used speakers youve bought...anything audio pleeezeż? :out: well back to reality just what ive been looking for eversince i borrowed a jazzy jeff and fresh prince cassette tape from my cousin about twenty years ago. the audio mags are good although i havent read much of them for years. their info was and is too sporadic i.e. monthly. something to be said about anticipation i guess. on here all i gotta do is flick on the 'puter and read and there is some anticipation as well but it doesnt last for 29 days as with a magazine.:rolleyes5:

There are lots of other sites you can belong to as well. Then you can be absolutely consumed by them.

We could compile a list for you, I suppose.

Sarge,

I think most people here will tell you that banana plugs are a good idea at both ends. I like these particular plugs because with the right (or nearly right) guage wire they'll give you double strength when put together. You can see in the pictures that I used heat-shrink tubing to #1, build up the area where the shell of the plug will grip onto the insulation and #2, create some measure of protection against oxidation where the bare wire makes connection inside the conductive part of the jack. They're a three piece plug that I purchased from Orange County Speakers in Cali. The plugs are made by GLS Audio. There's a link in the topic I started in the Home Theater section called "some receiver pics".

Sarge,

As long as you have room for them. (On some wall mounted speakers there isn't enough room.)

easy im using a ps3 for the internet as well as cds dvds and bluray as youll see in my equip. list kind of long winded i think. nice work with the cables. i once made ic out of satellite to reciever wire one was solid seven strand black and white wire. and the other was thinner strands like speaker wire. i cannibalized 2 sets of old ic cable and soddered them on to the newer cable. i used the same stuff to make speaker wire nothing hi tech just cut them up and connect them to the speakers. they exhibited drastically diff. sound one was fuller bass wise and the other sounded thinner if you will but, the lower bottom end was thumpen i had a pair of klh modell 8840 floor standers and those things rocked hard. startled my deaf uncle with them. used them in a enclosed basket ball court man they played deepand loud.....oops sorry got carried away there. :p
