We haven't done this in a while... What are you folks fave villains of all time from the movies... Mine are...

1. Tommy Udo, "Kiss of Death: See grandma in the wheelchair, tie grandma to the wheelchair, push wheelchair down the stairs... laugh manically as wheel chair crashes to the bottom of the steps.... ye gads...

2. Michael Corleone, "The Godfather": "Gee Michael do we have to kill em all?" Here's a man who'll have you killed at a moments notice... and not bat one eyelash...

3. Glenn Close, "Dangerous Liasons": Man, look up ***** in the dictionary and thar she be.

4. Gun Store owner, "Pulp Fiction": Sorry but this is one sick F**K. What he did to Ving Rhames and the Gimp, cannot be countenanced...

5. Terminator, "The Terminator": The ultimate killing machine..."and it absolutely will not stop!!!!"

6. Hannibal Lecter, "Silence of the Lambs": I'll never eat Farva beans I'll tell you.

7. Henry, "Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer": Problem with this one is that there are guys wandering around this country, just... like.... him!!!!

8. Deniro, "Cape Fear": Amazing performance, just amazing...

I know I'm missing some but it's late and I cain't tink strait.

Later Taters...

Hey Worf, great topic and very kewl list. Let me add a few others to the list.

Hans Gruber - Die Hard; "No, I'm an exceptional thief! And since I've moved on to kidnapping, I suggest you keep quiet, Mrs. McClain!" Alan Rickman was brilliant in this role, perfectly balancing between threatening, bumbling, suave, and unstable.

Tony Montana - Scarface; "Say hello to my little friend!" This was Pacino at his over-the-top best.

Killian - The Running Man; "Who loves you, and who do you love? ... Without further adieu, it's time to start RUNNING!" (later on, Arnie: "I'll be back!" Killian: "Only in a rerun.") Richard Dawson was born to play this role.

the assassin - In The Line of Fire; I always love villians that interact with the protagonist and are their equal. Malkovich was great in this role.

HAL - 2001: A Space Odyssey; "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that" Not sure if HAL's a villian per se, but sure as hell memorable.

Khan - Star Trek II; "He tasks me!" "Through hell's heart, I stab at thee; with my last breath, I spit at thee!" Worf! How could you leave this one out! Any villian that displaces the automatic mental association between Ricardo Montablan and Mr. Roarke or CORINTHIAN leather, is a pretty damn memorable one.

Judge - Full Contact; Hong Kong action classic with Chow Yun-Fat in arguably his studliest role. Judge is brilliantly played by Simon Yam as a sociopathic bisexual gangster. Whenever he's not killing people and blowing stuff up, he can't figure out if he wants to kill Jeff (the Chow Yun-Fat character), merely torture him, have sex with him alive, or have sex with him dead. Features a "bullet view" gunfight that's been copied by Hollywood directors several times since then. Rumor has it that Sly Stallone's planning a remake of this film, and he wants to play Judge (somehow, I can't picture Hollywood playing up the homosexual angle on this movie)!

Asia the Invincible - Swordsman II; another Hong Kong flick (if anything, HK action pics have very colorful villians), this one featuring Jet Li as a drunken monk who inadvertently gets tangled in a tug of war between various evil forces. Asia the Invincible is a rather complicated character -- I'll put it to you this way, the role was played by a male actor in the first film, but his acquisition of super powers at the end of the first film had this rather unpleasant side effect of castrating him as the cost of invincibility. So, in the sequel, "he" is portrayed by a woman! All the while, in between sword fights (some of the best you'll ever see) Jet Li inadvertently gets into a love triangle with Asia and "his" concubine, who can't quite figure out why "he" no longer has any interest in her. So, does this make Jet Li's character gay? Or does it make that concubine a lesbian? Or does it make Asia a merely misunderstood lad in shifting social climates? As you can imagine, all kinds of great gender bender madness, but make no mistake, Asia the Invincible is one badass mutha****er!

Darth Vader-TESB replaces his military leaders by choking them over monitors telekenetically. I wish I could do that sometimes...

Rutger Hauer in the hitcher...seriously ILL individual...but cool.

Main character in "Menace 2 society"

Scarface--"Say hello to my little friend"

Alien... mean little transmorphic creature

Predator: soon to meet alien. Ugly enough to knock a buzzard off a S**7wagon

Freddy Krueger-- well a few of his movies were good

Jason Vorhees--Crystal lake and camp hackenslash's favorite son. Man of NO words.

The Thing: I am hoping they go ahead and make the Thing 2

My vote have to go to John Leguizamo as the "wise cracking" clown in the 1997 movie: Spawn.

If you should fall, in Khan's words "I shall avenge you!"

Full Contact is readily available if you want to check it out, since Columbia issued a U.S. version of it last year. Unlike a lot of other domestic releases of HK flicks, Columbia has done a great deed by including the original Cantonese soundtrack rather than only the English dub. Best Buy and the usual other stores carry it. Swordsman II is a bit more difficult to find, so you'll have to look for a store that stocks a lot of imported martial arts titles.

Holy moly! Mother and the Angela Lansbury characters both creeped me out when I was a kid. Especially Angela Lansbury, good gawd was she evil!

Brings me back to the over-the-top depiction of Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest! That flick was so campy that it became a cult movie where people would go to midnight screenings and bring coat hangers with them.

Can't argue with a single selection on this list. Who's "mother" though, I'm drawing a blank unless it's a personal reference... Kaser Soze... what a name, what a movie... what a mindf**ker total and complete.. Fiennes was evil, but there's lots like him in every culture, every race and creed, just waiting for the right circumstances... Longshanks... eh... so so...

But all in all a great list..

Can we include Frank Booth (Dennis Hopper) in "Blue Velvet"? He is the epitome of "demented" in my book!

Beloq from Raiders of the Lost Ark was a great villain. Maybe not in the sinister way of a Darth Vader or Longshanks, but nevertheless intelligent, suave, pitiless (remember throwing Indy into the snake pit), and the perfect foil for Jones.

Chong Li from Bloodsport. What a horrifically awefull movie, that is just so ridiculously entertaining. And Bolo Yeung was also great in Enter the Dragon, but really came into his own with this "subtly masterful performance". And a young Forest Whittaker to boot! classic.

"you broke my record, now i break you!"

classic villain.
