Can you help me choose between these 2 center channel speakers?

I have Infinity Beta 20's for my fronts:

I am going to get either the Beta C250 or C360 for my center channel.

I guess my question is whether or not the C360 is necessary and/ or worth the extra money. I have a fairly low end receiver, but I will be upgrading that soon. I sit about 10 feet from my television and front and center channel speakers. My center channel is above my television, maybe higher than ideal, but the only place for it. My surrounds are about 8 feet behind my head and higher than listening level. That was the only place I could put them.

Would the bigger center channel overpower the rest of the system? Would it make any difference at all? Is it just unnecessary? Thank you for any input !!

Get the larger center, it will not over power as the volume for each speaker is set independently inside your receiver's menu, and the center channel speaker is one of the most important speakers as that's where most of the dialog and action takes place. Your surrounds being that far back is not a problem if you set your delays. Actually my owners manual says it may be desirable to set the delay higher to give the sound more depth, make the room larger, so being that far back could be good.

You can never have too much center channel for all the reasons cited above - the center is the most important speaker.

A friend got a wild hair to purchase a used JBL 4692 used on eBay and use it for a center - at first I thought he was crazy. Then, I thought about it a while and suggested he buy a pair and I split the price and get one for my system.

The 4612 has a pair of 8" LF transducers and a Bi-Radial HF horn. I added a midrange horn (JBL 2310 horn/lens with a 2410 1" compression driver) to mine and tri-amped it with an active crossover.

It sounds great.

i think the bigger one is better for the reasons above and because the woofers match what are in your speakers, which should help produce a more seamless sound.
