Did anybody know that tonight (Dec 21) is the longest night of year?

Starting tommorow (first day of winter) the days will get longer, and nights shorter. In some cultures, they celebrate the longest night of year by staying up all night and party till dawn.

That sound like a good idea. I think I join them :D

Ah yes, the Winter solstice. That day which denotes the first day of winter and the countdown to its end.
