I'm running 30' of speaker cable to my Paradigm Titan rear speakers. Is there a noticeable difference between 16AWG and 12AWG cable at that length? Thanks.

12 gauge is quite a bit thicker but at that length I believe the difference will be negligeable. Any longer and you may want to go thicker than 16. But don't take my word for it, someone may prove me wrong.

16g is fine for surrounds, but I ALWAYS use 12 for mains and center.
If you havent bought wire yet get 12g if it wont be a hardship, but don't sweat it if you get 16, and if you already have 16, go with it:1:

Thanks to Roger Russell.

http://www.roger-russell.com/wire/wire.htmgotta love that site. answers it is plain, simple format.

Basically, the logic is the longer the run, the thicker the gauge. In your case, any difference will be inaudiable. Use what you have.

I don't think you'll hear a difference. But sinse the pricing was so close, I went with 12.

Thanks to all for your input. I'll stick with the 16AWG. I've got 12AWG on the fronts, and they are Titan V.3, sound a bit better than the rears, which are older (probably V.1). Wasn't sure if the difference was attributable to the cable or the difference in speakers. Thanks again.
