I live in a super-noisy house and need to create a quiet environment for myself to study. I've tried the Peltor NRR-30+ Professional headsets, but they create a vacuum-like environment in my ears that makes them hurt a lot. Ear plugs don't work at all (I've tried most of them.)

I think that my remaining options are trying some other powerful earmuffs that don't create a painful vacuum environment or using some noise-canceling headphones. Any recommendations? I hardly ever use headsets for listening to music, but I figured that this was one of the best places to ask.

Go to a store like homedepot or something and get some noise protection earmuff things. They're usually orange or yellow, look like big headphones, and are super comfy and amazing at blocking noise.

Hope this helps!
(oh, they're also dirt cheap too!
