Hey everyone.. sort of returning to the home audio scene. anyways, i noticed that the polk audio r50's were in the top 20 products of audioreview.com.. they sell them at my local fry's for $50 a piece. Are these speakers any good for music. Im thinking about coupling it with a good denon receiver, the one that retails for $599. My budget for speakers is $300. I thought the polk's were a steal since they are floorstanders. Im moving to a new place and will remodel the garage to be a room. Thats where i want to create a 2.1 channel music system. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks -david

I don't know their prices in America, but you should definately check out Monitor Audio, their Bronze series (and the BR2 in particular) is exellent value for it's money :)

Keep them spinning,
Bert.

Welcome to AR. Sadly the top 200 products have not been updated in quite some time. Also that is top products based on number of views from members and visitors. It is not an indicator of 20 top quality products. Please read the reviews and listen first.

for that price the BR2's as basite recommended are a good choice. Look at Ascend acoustics I think for around 370 you can get a pair. JohnMicheal has one and he likes em. Try listening to as many as you can in shops.

For less money than $599.00 you should check out the Onkyo 9555 integrated amp. It has been receiving several great reviews and our own John Michael found it competant enough to replace his Cambridge Audio 640.

Thanks for all the advice guys. its great living in socal btw. im gonna head out to borders now to read some of the stereo mags, but i still trust this as #1 source for audio advice, since there are is alot of advertising out there.
