One of you wacky guys posted a cool pic of a Blue Note Christmas album that captured my curiosity several weeks ago - I meant to order the darn thing, but I seemed to have lost the post-it note I made. Now I can't remember which one it was and kind find the thread it was posted in. Doh.
Please help... :6:

here it is - I've had it on my Christmas list for the last two or three years. my wife just ordered it from amazon this year. I've listened to it twice so far but each time I've been distracted. as we get closer to that magical day I'm sure I'll spin it many more times.

Hey Dean-o, I think that's it!!!! I did a quick phone-check with my local CD store and they had several Blue Note Christmas offerings so I wasn't sure which , but I think this is the one I saw posted here before (by you?)
Thanks man!

For the most part it favors the blues side. Fun vocals and a few instrumentals. To highlight my personal favorites…Bought you a plastic star to me is the perfect Christmas song, a little campy with all the right sentiments. This is the one I want to hear every year. You’re a mean one Mr. Grinch is a delicious guitar solo which captures Seuss well with the Who-ville intro. I’m a fan of Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea at the piano so tracks 13 and 14 appeal to this. And the two odd ones that cling to my ears and are a little less accessible are The Little Drummer Boy and Carol of the Bells. The latter being New Orleans influenced and an interesting take (but perhaps a little too squeaky). On the subject of New Orleans, II Est Ne, Le Divin Enfant makes me wish Dr. J would make a Christmas Party album. Be-Bob Santa Claus you can consider a bonus track.
I don't have the flac files anymore. These are lossless and you can use iTunes to begin the conversion to any other lossless format

I concur with the Guiraldi and Ella Christams CDs. Another great one is Ray Charles' Christmas Cd, though it's more on the country and blues side than jazz. I also have a Kenny G Christmas CD (probably his first one) which is outstanding.
