preamp,receiver,equalizer

got this nice system with turntable, cd player, tape deck. How do I connect the powered preamp (nad) , the receiver and the equalizer? Which is going where? I am the total beginner with this.

Your description of your equipment is confusing. You mention both a preamp and a receiver: this is possible but most people have either (1) a preamp and a power amp, or (2) a receiver. Bear in mind that a receiver is a combination unit that includes radio tuner + preamp + power amp all in one box. Please clarify what you've actually got.
