I want some big THX Effects in my couch. like a jumping or vibrating couch!
Where can I find these units? Or better yet build a vibrating box myself....

Any links or info is much appreciated!

I think you're looking for Aura Bass Shakers. Partsexpress.com is as good a place as any to buy them, you can also check amazon.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the links, How would I make my own giant vibrating motor? I looked on youtube and found how to cell phone vibrating motors work. Basically a mother with a uneven weight video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j09bSgsF0ec)
How would I make a giant one from household appliances? I have a spare blower that I could take apart.

Topspeeds suggestion was a good one.

I just installed 4 aura bass shakers under a seven foot couch:

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=299-028&CFID=765769&CFTOKEN=11341833

and they are powered by this plate amp:

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=300-804

Granted, this will set you back about $260, but IMO it's worth it.
Also this huge link might help:

Best of luck, vardo

I have my Aura shakers (from Parts Express) wired off an unused channel of my 7 channel amp..I love them, but not as much as friends & family who come over and get the crap scared out of them when the couch vibrates! Definitely worth it, just get the Aura's from Parts Express and be done.

Very cool, thx for the tips. I might have to pick up some of those aura bass shakers and just get done with it. Dont want to start my couch on fire of blow something up. My parents would be pissed.
