David Garland--new album with Sufjan Stevens

I'm listening to this as I type...I'm not a big Sufjan Stevens fan, but I know he scores high with people whose opinions & taste I respect, so maybe I just haven't heard the right rec, I don't know. Anyway, David Garland is a good friend of a good friend, and an acquaintance of mine, so sorry for the plug-like nature of the post.

So far what I'm hearing is quite reminiscent of the good friend we share in common, Mike 'Sport' Murphy. I've heard some of David's stuff before; if you're into this sort of thing, it's certainly well-done. Me likey? Yes. Singer-songwriter stuff with eccentric flourishes, but well-constructed melodies & hooks.
