Why all the junk pop-ups?

I don't post much here anymore, and one of the reasons is all the junk pop-ups that appear every time I open up this site. For krissakes, how many times can I be the "999,999th visitor?" and have "won" a "prize," that requires more steps to complete in order to receive that "prize," as well as my having to provide personal information to some potential internet predator?

I don't shop at Wal-Mart, and certainly don't appreciate ads for them at a supposed "audio-only" website.

What's the story, mods?:confused5:

Ed, i dont think the mods have any control over it, it just comes with the territory. very similar to how its done at ST, but on a larger scale.

Oh, that's right...I use Safari with my Mac...never had one.

you could disable pop-ups for this site and see what happens.

use firefox, and get adblock...

no more popups :)

Yeah, I didn't realize there were pop-ups.

Firefox must be taking care of them.
