Using an Iaudio A2/X5. I want high levels of detail, I've previously owned a paid of Shure's e2c and really enjoyed them, so I thought about getting the e4c or maybe the SE310. I would first like to know your recommendations. I need portability, and maybe being able to go to the gym with them without looking like an idiot :P

Thought about Koss PortaPro. which are much cheaper, or maybe Ultrasone HFI-700 which are larger. Would have consideres Senn's HD595, but they are more quiet home listening kind of headphones.

Thanks for any help :)

If you're going to the gym with them, yeah, i'd recommend that Shure e4c's

(just a warning though...the seal is really good on your ear canal, so of you plan on jogging, you'll hear your feet hit the ground :P) which is kinda cool when you have some music mixed to your running pace, then it adds to the bass :)

Using the Goldilocks principle, I settled on the E3c. A non-audiophile friend of mine has had both and says the 3 is a good bit better than the 2. I recently replaced my pair (having stupidly left the others on a plane) over eBay for about $130.

For what you are wanting id go with the Koss PortaPro. I use Grados at home but want something a bit more portable and think ill pick up the PortaPros.

Try with Grado and Sennheiser products, both are quite
nice.

I wouldn't try Grado at the gym, I don't think they'd hold up to that as well as some other headphones.
