Hi,

I am having some difficulty with my brand new setup which is an M60/VP100/QS8/EP350 with and Oppo DV-981 and a Sherwood R-672 receiver.

I have connected the Oppo to the R-672 using HDMI and have an HDMI out going to my TV.

But I am having trouble figuring out how to enable HDMI audio. I get a video signal but my speakers are silent.

I am stuck without any sound coming out of my Axioms.

Anyone have a clue what I am doing wrong or need to do to enable audio ?

I looked at the spec/features sheet and came up with this goodie.

"Optical and coaxial digital audio outputs with DTS, Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro-Logic II and Linear PCM support "

In such case, I would procure either a coaxial cable, a toslink interconnect, or a 5.1 audio connector set if you want to use the Oppo's DAC's.

This is my source, but you could always recheck your manual. I could always be wrong.

you might have to choose hdmi as the audio source from your receivers menu.
But one thing that will work is a coax or optical cable, and just using the hdmi for the video.
It wont be as elegant, but you might want to hook your DVD up directly to your TV and
use coax or optical for your sound.
The picture will probably be better that way anyway.
And how is the picture on your player? I'm thinking of buying one:1:
