Just curious if any portable DVD players out there run on AA rechargeables. Thinking about picking one up.

Anyone particularly like theirs?

umm...not that i know of...

Most of the cheaper ones (even the pricier ones) are a single unit, and the battery is separate that hangs off the back...

portable DVD's suck. get an archos 704 or something.
(SEE, i'm not an apple fanboy. I'd recommend a touch, but the capacity sucks...and there's supposedly something wrong with the screen when viewing video straight one, it look like a negative film strip (kinda like looking at a cell screen from a really odd angle)

Hey,

I am not so sure on the battery issue, as I know that some do come with the availability for AA batteries as a backup. I did however come across 2 laptops you may be interested in finding out if they do have the battery capabilities:

I have a Spectrum but it runs off the car's power outlet. Took it on a cruse last week and watched movies in my state room connected to the large in room tv.

Wow. Saw the thread title and thought someone was spamming with my username. Interesting though. 5 years and portable DVD is dead in my family what with all the iPods, iPhones, and iPad accumulating... thanks for caring Poultry!

If it's mainly for the single flight then I sugget the in-flight entertainment. With screens in the back of seats these days you have reasonable choice. Certainly the cheapest option.
