Anyone up for another personal favorites comp project? If you were around for the first one in 2001 you'll remember it was supposed to represent your all-time favorites. I think this time around (assuming others want to do this) we should limit it to songs released in, say, the last ten or fifteen years. Yeah, Van Morrison and Bowie and the Beatles made some of the best rock music ever (or at least thus far) but if we limit it to relatively newer releases I think the chances are much, much greater we'll all get to hear a lot of things for the first time ever. Just a thought.

What brang all this about is I made a comp for a friend who has pretty much given up on new music for the last decade or so. I told her what we all say at such times - that's there's an amazing amount of great new music being made but you won't find it on commercial radio much anymore. I included a few mid-90s-ish songs that I know she likes to show her there's tons of new music out there that can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with her "last of the good stuff" favorites. We listened to the comp a couple of times together this past weekend and I think I proved my point :)

This comp was super-easy to make. All I did was pull songs off of comps I have made if the last three or four years. The only tough part was keeping it to two discs ;) I realize most people who've traded with me before won't want this but perhaps some of the new faces here? It's the best comp EVER! :)
