the topic says it all
need recommendations for stereo speakers good enough to fill a 150ppl hall, say 35 feet by 50 feet, with clear sound, will be running ocassioanl movies, should handle music good aswell. protable is always good, but not necceassry
will be powered by 300-600watt perchannel crown amp CTs amp,

firstly, i checked some touring/concert/portable kinda speakers, they r loud, but not clear enough for movies,

than i shifted my focus away from touring speakers to small cinema/hall/ auditrium speakers, JBL Pro 3000 series cinema screen array speakers looks perfect, loud, ment for movies so i assuming they must be clear souding, but not protable easily, and r they suitable for open air parties/ loud music?

than i looked at bose 801, tough, handles power, clear mid range, very portable, seems good but need subwoofers, and a pair might not be loud enough for such a big room.

what r ur recommendations? primary use movies in a hall, secondary use music, party, stage shows, small indoor underground concert.

budget, well suggest cheapest ones u think will do the trick.

i actaully like klipcsh 325 and 904 more than jbl 3000 series, JBL states 3000 is good upto 150ppl, klipsch states 325 is good for small venues, not wt are those small venues?

the 'small venues' are for professional cinema purposes, which means that a 'small venue' is still pretty big...

a 325 will most likely do, a 904 will be with a bigger punch, do remember that you might still need a big sub to part with them (pro speakers cover a decent frequency range, but they leave the lowest octaves to the speakers ment to reproduce them: subs)

Good luck,
Bert.

325 i think goes for 800$ each, correct me if im wrong. ( jbl 3622N costs 1500$)
CTs600 retail price is 1200$

with a sub later, this should do the trick, :)

ok putting movies aside
do u ppl think for music, its better to go for touring speakers than cinema speakers? i mean some thing like this http://jblpro.com/products/portablesound/vrx/vrx932la.html
at the moment i am making one system, and after long thoughts; moving cinema speakers is a problem, so i have to start with portable system, and use it for movies aswell in large halls, but im concerned about the vocal, dialogue clearity of these high SPL concert speakers. so in short, if i change my primary use from movies to live music, do u ppl still recommend me cinema speakers, ( altimately i;ll make 2 rigs but for the time being 1)

im limited to JBL and klipsch at the moment, thats the only stuff i get locally. and i cant audition any of em.
