I've used Goldwave for a few years now and love it. After using the shareware version for the longest time, I finally broke down and got the upgrade for IIRC $50, but as much as I use this, I owed them. There are far too many uses for this thing to list them here, but one of the things I've been putzing around with is over compressed CDs, like Rush's Vapor Trails. I've tried all kind of volume level reduction and EQ modes, but I think I've finally figured out a way to make this thing more listenable.
Goldwave allows me to reduce the overall volume, but that alone won't change the sound quality, since you'll just have a less loud, but still over compressed signal, but I've been playing with the dynamic boost function and I think I'm getting close.
Anyone else play with Goldwave like this?
