[FA stands by the water cooler and clears her throat].

Excuse me. EXCUSE ME. Can I have your attention for a moment please.

GMichael, please turn your attention from that porn site for one minute. Worf, put those Klingon gadgets away...what the hell is that anyway?...never mind, on second thought, I'd rather not know.

I'd like to make a short announcement.

Since Lost is over for the season, and we probably won't see it again until 2008 (!!!), I'd like to declare this the official Thursday Watercooler Thread. As much as I looked forward to watching Lost on Wednesday nights, I also looked forward to our Thursday discussions. So, since we don't have Lost to talk about on Thursday's I thought that we could just discuss other stuff. First person to the site on Thursday morning, pick a topic for discussion. Anything goes. Just keep it clean please (GMichael, this means you!).

This weeks topic can be whether you think this is a good idea or not.

Okay, meeting ajourned. Thanks for your attention.

[FA pours a glass of water from the Watercooler, turns to leave and trips over a chair. She stands up, tries to gain her composure, and walks away]

...Lost 'til Feb '08 (so says TV Guide, as per my wife) the topics of will become even more rarefied it seems...so...

Any guesses as to why this site, and others like it, have become so tedious...others have mentioned the current state of things, but there hasn't been much real discussion about it...anywho...

How often do you give your dog a bath?

When was the last time you played miniature golf?

When was the last time you ate at White Castle?

What do you consider your secret musical indulgence?

What's your favorite food? Drink?

Other than site related things, have any hobbies?

My answers:

Every few months, unless he rolls in something really evil...

This past weekend...in fact twice, at two different places...No idea why...

This past weekend...I had eight, my better half five including a fish sandwich...shared an order of fries and a jumbo sweet tea...Belly Bombs, nothin' like 'em...

The waltz and other Strauss-ian musical forms...

Since I've embargoed Indian, Mexican food gets the nod...Drink would be anything alcoholic, but since that avenue is offically closed to me, sweetened tea...

Many and diverse...from model trains to woodworking/carpentry...

How often do you give your dog a bath?
Every couple of months...

When was the last time you played miniature golf?
Hmmm...2 summers ago? I have a fear of windmills.

When was the last time you ate at White Castle?
I confess, I have never eaten at White Castle...at least not that I can recall.

What do you consider your secret musical indulgence?
My name is Kexodusc, and I am a closet Styx and Supertramp fan.

What's your favorite food? Drink?
Pepper Steak - cant' beat a good pepper steak. I'm a beer guy, though I do enjoy a good a good Shiraz, Pinot Noir, and even Merlot from time to time...(despite what Paul Giamatti says in Sideways). Unfortunately, 2007 has thrown a diabetic curve ball at me, and consumption of alcohol is at a minimum these days

Other than site related things, have any hobbies?
I build speakers, but that don't count cause it's site related...hmm, I play hockey, baseball/softball, and guitar, piano and cello. But I make about as much money playing music as I do playing sports.

(walks to water cooler, fills a 32 oz jug, pours something else into the jug from an unidentified bottle, raises jug high into the air)

Ahem... Hello to all my fellow LOST junkies going through withdrawls. It has been 7 days sinse I last watched "IT". (sobs for a minute)
Today today today.....
We begin a long treck through summer summer summer....
We will make it it it....
Because we are strong strong strong....

TURN THAT OFF off off...

...

How often do you give your dog a bath?

No dog.

When was the last time you played miniature golf?

September 9th 2002 at 5:50 PM. I was wearing blue pants and a yellow T-shirt that said, "give it me one more time. Duh........

When was the last time you ate at White Castle?

Never went down that road.

What do you consider your secret musical indulgence?

If I told you, it wouldn't be a secret now would it?

What's your favorite food? Drink?

A thick Porterhouse steak. Fresh coffee that I brewed myself.

Other than site related things, have any hobbies?

Billiards, Harleys, & girls..

[QUOTE=Resident Loser]jimHJJ(...just my useless contribution to the cause...)

Mine too.

And to FA: If you weren't so correct, I'd be offended. Well, not really. I liked being singled out by a redheaded lady. Tanx

Gadgets!!???
Gadgets!!???!!
We don' need no stinkin' Gadgets!!!

Thursday morning, the first of many without F.A., Kam, G'man, Kex and JSE babbling ad infintim on some minor, miniscule point or other from the previous nights show...

"Did you see the Dharma symbol on that knats ass?"

1. I don't own a dog.

2. Played Putt Putt about 3 years ago.

3. White Castle "Food of the Gods". I love dem little sliders and I don't even drink.

4. Dirty muscial secret? "Culture Club". There was some great tunes and musicians (they didn't play that music) on some of those albums. Still love "Time".

5. Fried Porgies, cornbread, tater salad and collards. Oh warden I'm ready for my hot shot now.

6. Hobbies? I sing lead and play bass in an RnB band. I build puters, install Home Theatres and fly nightly online in Hyperlobby with the 99th Pursuit Squadron representing the Tuskegee Airmen.

Hey RL, that's the spirit! Thanks for kicking things off.

Any guesses as to why this site, and others like it, have become so tedious...others have mentioned the current state of things, but there hasn't been much real discussion about it...anywho...

We lost a lot of people who used to frequent this site regularly when they changed this site to VBulletin a few years ago. The site is just too slow now. I find it slow and I have a DSL modem. I can't imagine trying to load this site on dial-up.

How often do you give your dog a bath?

I've never had a dog. But I'd really like one. My current lifestyle is not very dog friendly unfortunately. But some day...

When was the last time you played miniature golf?

About four years ago. We went to one of those glow-in-the-dark places. It was pretty cool.

When was the last time you ate at White Castle?

Never. There's no White Castles in Canada.

What do you consider your secret musical indulgence?

Like Kex, I am a Styx fan. I've also been known to groove to Def Leppard, Poison, and Bon Jovi.

What's your favorite food? Drink?

Food: Honey garlic chicken wings. Drink: A Lime Margarita on the rocks. Or a good Cosmoplitan, but so few bartenders know how to make a good one.

Other than site related things, have any hobbies?

I play accoustic guitar. I love to read when I can find the time. I also cross stitch and I used to knit but haven't done that in years.

Strangely, the best Margarita that I've ever had was in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan at a place called The Palace. I used to travel to SSM, Ontario three times a year, and I'd always hop the border and go to The Palace for Margs and their home made guacamole. Mmmmmm.

didn't participate in the Lost discussions, but I'll play...

How often do you give your dog a bath?

at least 2x a month...she rides in my car a couple of times a week. it's a small car.

When was the last time you played miniature golf?

I wish I could remember. I'm putting this on my to-do list for this summer

When was the last time you ate at White Castle?

We have Krystals...they're hard to resist, I pay dearly for'em the next morning, but I've resisted for about a month now

What do you consider your secret musical indulgence?

Nobody in my family cares for my recent fascination with Daniel Johnston so I'm keeping it a secret

What's your favorite food? Drink?

thick, rare ribeye, twice-dipped southern fried chicken, Thai, Mexican, IBC cream soda, Killian's Irish Red, Kalik, good coffee (the kind you can't get from auto-drip) and pina coloda which I learned how to make over Memorial Day weekend. I plan on becoming a proficient blender user this summer.

Other than site related things, have any hobbies?

making noise on my gee-tars, recording the noise I make on my gee-tars with my vintage electro-voice microphone and recording vocals with my telephone mic.

HELL YEAH!

Gov't Mule, Dream Theater, Ben Folds, and Tenacious D to name a few.

It's a great spot for concerts IMO. As far as friendly, well, not the friendliest place in the world, but this is in a pretty busy area and safe as anywhere I'd say.

As for dining etc, you're never far from a Steak N' Shake or Chick-Fil-A in Atlanta, but what are you in the mood for? A bit more upscale? The Sun Dial Restaurant at the top of the Westin. Get an aerial view of the town while you spin. They have some good steak there...awesome.

KOOL. Thanks for the info. I missed Nora Jones and M. Ward there a few weeks ago, but I'm putting together plans for Labor Day weekend. If my wife and I get to go, we'd like
to see a show (G.Love and Special Sauce is scheduled to play the Tabernacle Sept.1), grab a decent dinner - maybe something a little exotic like the Thai place you mentioned - and stay in a decent hotel all in the same part of town. (I tried getting around in Atlanta recently and it was a little frustrating.)

I would ship you a burger or sandwich and a shake from Steak n Shake, but I don't think it would travel well.

Any guesses as to why this site, and others like it, have become so tedious...others have mentioned the current state of things, but there hasn't been much real discussion about it Good question. For me, the topics have become a bit stale and I miss the heated "discussions" that we had with Lex, SVI, and even Hershon. We need a little spice now and again. I pretty much just hang out in FF...and now OT :).

How often do you give your dog a bath? Every weekend. She has skin allergies so she has a medicated shampoo to help her itching. Besides, she can only come in the house if she doesn't smell like, well...a dog.

When was the last time you played miniature golf? A few months back. Hey, I've got two young boys and the park is a 1/2 mile from my house.

When was the last time you ate at White Castle? The closest I've been to White Castle is when I had a Harold and Kumar flashback. We've got In 'N Out on the West Coast.

What do you consider your secret musical indulgence? I like British jazz influenced pop: Simply Red, Swing Out Sister, Sade, and I'm a huge Level 42 fan. Mark King is a god on the bass. 'Course, I'm listening to Tool while I'm typing this, so you can safely surmise my tastes are varied to say the least.

What's your favorite food? Drink?Grilled Chilean sea bass or Chinese style sea bass in hot oil and soy sauce. Favorite drink is Sprite, alchoholic is beer.

Other than site related things, have any hobbies?Anything that has to do with speed and lately, an unhealthy interest in watches.

You know...Jaeger LeCoultre, IWC, Vacheron Constantin. The gearhead in me is intrigued by the precision and workmanship of the jewels and movements, although I admit the realist part of my brain keeps reminding me they still only tell time. This little obsession began when a fellow car nut was astounded I wasn't into watches. Apparently, both appeal to the same kind of psychosis :p.

Yep. Life is good. The sun is shining. And, I assume that the bird's are chirping and the bee's are buzzing. I can't actually hear them from my office. No cotton growing in Toronto. But my Snapdragon's have grown pretty high, does that count?

I've got a nice weekend planned. Maybe taking in a baseball game tomorrow night (waiting to see if we can get free tickets). A BBQ with some good friends planned for Saturday. And a nice massage booked for Sunday, while Hubby's out golfing.
