Aloha Everyone,

I have a perplexing problem. Maybe someone here has a solution or comment I have a M&K MX-125 subwoofer, I have connected using the speaker thru spring clips. My receiver doesn't have a LFE. I had it cranked with the Bass Boost on. Now when it plays the bass distortes and "pardon me" farts. I have disconnected each speaker and hooked them up seprately they are fine. I took the amplifier out and checked fuses everything fine to me.

Any possible suggestions as to what happened? Have I created a corner black box plant stand? Thanks in advance.

Chris

Sorry everybody. I had no idea M&K had closed it's doors in Feb. No wonder I received no response to my emails. Now I feel dumb, my bad. Chris

Ken Kreisel and see what he thinks about the problems with
your sub (great sub by the way) good luck...vardo

Dang I didn't know M&K closed up shop either. Oh well, I never really cared for their subs or their satellites but I know they had their niche fanbase.

X2,

hate to see places close, whether I like their sound or not...

X2,

hate to see places close, whether I like their sound or not...

I remember when "Great American Sound" went out of business
30 yrs ago. It was located in Chatsworth (San Fernando Valley),
Ca.

I worked about a couple blocks from their factory and some of
the people who worked with me had worked for GAS. An
electrial technican I worked with was a real audiofile, and he
felt Great American Sound made quality products...and he was
right (Theadra, Thalia preamps, and Ampzilla and Son of Ampzilla
power amps). One day just before they closed the doors of their
plant, I walked over there and got a 50% discount on a Thalia preamp.
It was pretty sad, just the 2 owners assembling the last few pieces
of equipment...and they looked pretty down. Was a depressing sight.

I still have that preamp in my main listening room. Although dated,
it is still a fine preamp.....vardo
