I genrally do not like tribute albums. If I care to listen to a favorite group, I want to hear the original. As good as The Black Crows live album doing mostly Led Zep covers was, it just made me opine for the original. Most tribute albums are spotty at best, and at worst, insufferable.

This is actually a good album, with obvious acts (Jakob Dylan, Alman Bros, Bruce Hornsby) and some not so obvious acts taking on some well worn material. My Morning Jacket's take on It Makes No Difference is as good a cover as anyone will ever do with that song and Death Cab For Cutie does justice to Rockin' Chair.

One lone exception was Jack Johnson, which I figured to be a slam dunk, but his take on I Shall Be Released is ameturish at best, as he sounded like he was in over his head.
