Quiet Coil pattern (dual layer silver alloy wire) ensure lowest noise threshold and inductance (patent pending), and have been treated at -320 degrees in cryogenic chamber for an un-disclosed period of time.

And they are so nice as not to shield it either :)

I read the ad copy on the site advertising the sale of this cable and I have a few comments.

1. That sure looks like a single helix to me, not a double helix.

2. That looks like it would make a great antenna in the 20 gHz range.

3. They accuse other cable companies of dressing up over the counter wire in thick jackets to impress people.

4. They claim a miraculous 0.002 mH of inductance for a 1 meter length. Just a quick check reveals that even basic RG-6 has better inductance than that. Belden 1694a is 0.106 uH per foot or about 0.00033 mH for 1 meter.

While I admit I have absolutely no idea how this cable may or may not sound, it's very hard to give technical creedance to their ad copy. And that's not even to mention the price they are asking related to the parts and labour that went into making it.

Sure looks cool though.

The cryogenic treatment alone adds $1000 in sound quality easy. I borrowed a 1 meter set and they're awesome. I'm having a pair shipped next week. Can't wait!

Hey Mike

I don't belive coiling cables like that will help reduce inductance. As matter of fact it might increase it. And the wire are so wrapped tight together that capacitance might also be a problem. As you said, this cable is probably more cosmetic than functional :)

Hey Bill

I don't know about that. I put cryogenic treatment as the same category as cable burnin. Alot of hearsay, but no solid proof to back it up :)

John neutron measured his new DIY cables and tested just this aspect and more. No change :)

By the way, isn't this an interconnect cable, not a speaker cable, right? Inductance is irrelevant :) Capacitance is. :D

Well, if that doesn't take the cake! An unshielded interconnect of all things ... how ferking stupid is it gonna get? This company - whoever they are, should be tarred and feathered and run outta town on a rail. Their lack of understanding of basic electronic principles is only exceeded by their brazen GREED! Audiogon should be ashamed of themselves for even mentioning this piece of crap - lending any sort of credence to the validity of it. Sheeeesh! When, oh when is all of this bullsh*t gonna stop anyway?

You do have a point there about inductance, but if you look at how it is designed, it does looks like a "big" air coil. And coils are not made to be used as an interconnect :D

Well, some golden ears claim that unshielded silver IC sound more "musical" than shielded type. And that might be reason for that design. But somebody should tell these guys that whatever gain there might be from unshielded IC is off set by increased S/N ratio :)

But, it is not a single wire that would be a choke. It has two wires with signals going in opposite direction that cancel out, so it is not even close to a choke inductor :)

You tell them. I have better luck with a brick wall :)

That was tongue-in-cheek. I don't have that kind of money!
