Ordered these last Sunday. Getting back into vinyl is fun. When the CD's come they fit in the mailbox. When these babies arrive, I know the mailman had to get out of his little jeep and bring these up to the door. I take care of him at Christmas time.

I listened to the Mozart last night. Put my headphones on so I could really enjoy it and not have to worry about the volumn level bothering anybody. Both pieces were beautifully done. I have both of these on CD, but with different orchestras and conductors. The difference was amazing. Much more definition and an overall openess of the instuments. Maybe I'm not comparing apples to apples, but the vinyl did stand out to me. Right now my headphones sound better to me than my speakers do. Hopefully I won't have to say that for much longer.

Just received some new vinyl myself. Maybe it is my age but new vinyl is more exciting than new cd's. The first was Maria Muldaur's "Richland Woman Blues" and the second is Kenny Wayne Shepherd's "10 Days Out Blues From The Backroads". If you like the blues both are excellent.

nope, it's not your age, it's just a fact that vinyl can sound more exiting than cd :)

Keep them spinning,
Bert.

Hi John,

Great choice. I have got that one included in a delivery from Acoustic Sounds which is waiting for me to be picked up today.

Nothing to do with age at all. Vinyl is more exciting.:ihih: Did that come out right?

Enjoy your new wax one and all.

Peace

Very nice! I just received Cat Power's "Moon Pix" on Matador and The Byrds' "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" on Sundazed. Moon Pix sounds pristine - no pops clicks or other noise - and it came with a coupon for a free download of the entire album. Sweetheart sounds great too. I've had it on cd for several years and the vinyl is a little smoother in the highs. That album cover looks great in its intended size. Sundazed does a good job.

noisy but still great. $16 but ive seen it on the net for $150. right now i am listening to a VERY young joey defrancesco, on the comver he looks like jay leno.

try to get the white stripes-elephant on vinyl while you still can. btw, i am 62 yrs old and enjoy all formats, in surround (passive dynaquad).

The For Duke album is excellent. I bought mine new when released. Through the years it has become a little noisy. Our copies might sound alike.

Just picked up a copy of a record I've been wanting for quite some time this weekend. grabbed Sam Cooke: My Kind of Blues after hearing great things about it but never hearing it since its never been on CD and the vinyl I've come across has usually been too expensive. But, grabbed a reasonably priced copy this week and have been loving it.

Also grabbed reissues of Link Wray & the Raymen, Al Green Gets Next To You, Dizzy Recce: Blue Trinity and Sonny Phillips: Black on Black.

Finally it arrived today. My 200 gram copy of Aqualung. I pre-ordered this back in March. It sounds so sweet. Much better than the original, of course my equipment is alot better than my old Sansui 661 receiver and my Elac Miracord turntable from 1972. Now to pull out the catalog from Acoustic Sounds and see what to order next. I'm feeling the need for some good jazz.
