CD, DVD, Video, TV, etc.. inputs, differences

Are there any audio quality differences in sound output between the various inputs?
For example if I hook up a DVD player to Video 1(or Video 2,3,4,5 etc) input, will the sound output be as good as if it was hooked up to the DVD input?
BTW: the DVD, CD inputs are all used up.

Youi might be able to assign certain inputs as either digital (coax or toslink for HT) or analog (red/white). As far as the CD player goes, this may or may not result in a different sound, depending upon which DAC is "better", your CD players or your receivers. Which is "better" is up to you.

Yes, there will be no difference in sound quality - no matter which input terminal is used. The various input signals are switched before they pass through any active circuitry - which will be exactly the same circuits for all of the like inputs. As Mark already pointed out, there CAN be a difference in sonic quality if some input(s) use the DACs from their source component (thereby entering the amp in analog form) or use the DACs in the amplifier (entering the amp in digital form).

It should also be mentioned that unless the amplifier provides some means for adjusting the incoming signal levels, there can be a difference in loudness between various inputs, giving the impression (falsely) of a difference in sound quality. That is of course an illusion.
