With my new player today (Parasound HALO D3 for those who didn't know) I did some major listening today and thought I would share my playlist in case anyone cares...
Ennio Morricone HERE'S TO YOU: Tribute Live
YO-YO MA PLAYS ENNIO MORRICONE
Elton John HONKY CHATEAU (SACD & CD layer)
The Zutons TIRED OF HANGING AROUND
David Bowie ALADDIN SANE
Sarah Brightman DIVA: SINGLES COLLECTION
STARSHIP TROOPERS: Soundtrack
Sarah Mclachlan SURFACING
Jocelyn Pook UNTOLD THINGS
Depeche Mode A BROKEN FRAME & SONGS OF FAITH AND DEVOTION (CD & SACD layers)
Fleetwood Mac SAY YOU WILL
Billy Joel's THE STRANGER (SACD-only)
The Smashing Pumpkins ADORE
Queen THE GAME (DVD-A)
Jewel 0304
KILL BILL VOL 1: Soundtrack
What a bizarre grouping of stuff as I type it out I realize that. Anyway, the real stand-outs from this bunch would probably be Jewel's 0304, which had some dynamic bass and Fleetwood Mac's SAY YOU WILL had some incredibly detailed sonics happening especially on songs with intense fingerpicking (BLEED TO LOVE HER).
STARSHIP TROOPERS is an HDCD and always sounded superb and still does! David Bowie's ALADDIN SANE, while not as refined as the SACD titles available from him, still holds a good punch being remastered. Overall a great day of listening and enjoying the new player.
