Hi i currently have Studio 20 V.4 as my fronts im looking to add a center channel and from the recommendations from this site im going to go with another studio 20 to make 3 across the front instead of traditional CC. My question is this the Studio 20 V3 is easier to find used than the new V4 could i go with the V3 and still have a good timbre match or should i waite and try to find a V4. Thanks any help will be appreciated

Anytime you have an opportunity to use three identical speakers across the front, you should go for it. I have yet to hear the Studio v.4 series, but I know that the Studio v.2 and v.3 series have some noticeable differences in how they are voiced. If the v.4 differs from the v.3 by a similar magnitude, you're better off trying to find another v.4. Given how new the Studio v.4 series is, I doubt you'll find too many used units right now.

last weekend, I auditioned Studio 100 V4, and I liked V3 much better...
I would say wait till you find a v4 to match up...

so in that case then i shoudlnt even consider using the CC470v3 center channel right since its not version 4 either

imo, the v3 & v4 sound totally different due to different tweeters & mids (not sure if the woofer changed)
so I suggest keeping with the same version...
if you can audition some version 3's and they sound the same to you, then save some money and purchase the version 3's ;o)

do you like the sound of the v4's?

if you are disappointed, take them back and get used v3 's ;o)

everyone likes different speakers, and since they sent you speakers you didn't expect they should take them back...
then again, I don't know the place you purchased these so... goodluck ;o)

if you like the sound of the v4's better... cool, worked out for you with this set, only will cost more to purchase a matching set...

I am surprised none of the hard core paradigm guys have chimed in here
they may have a totally different idea than I...

Yeah im really not sure what to do. I wish i could just get a singel Ver 4 Studio 20 that would solve all my problems but being so new i doubt i will find any. Hopefully some paradigm guys might shed some light on this situation. But returning my 20's really isnt an option i dont believe i ordered them and thats what paradigm sent them instead of the Ver. 3 they must not have been shipping anymore of the old series.

Okay, I'll offer my .02 cents and hopefully won't stear you wrong.
Before I got my Studio 20 v3 I was using the 370 cc monitor and B&W DM 601 S3 to cover my front soundfield and my Studio 100 v2 in the corner ( I have an unconventional set-up ). Now the sound wasn't all that bad, just that Studio 100's on a different amp and better tweeter than the monitor line would attract my ears towards them. And I prefer the tweeter of the 100's over the B&W DM 601, not that the 601 is bad. I just like the sound of Ritchie Blackmore's limited edition Fender Stratocaster guitar with these tweeters.
So my goal in purchasing the Studio 20 v 3 and 470 cc v 3 and additional amps was to get a better tweeter match with my 100's. And as a result I have a coherent 180 degree soundfield with none of the speakers standing out and drawing attention and directionality to themselves.
So this is what you have to determine. Is the improvement in the Studio 20 v 4 that much better than the 20 v 3 that it's going to draw your attention and directionality to it?
That is one reason I didn't go for the S2 as the detail was superior to the 20's and would have left me with the same listening situation I was trying to improve.
