6 ohm mains and 8 ohm surrounds...

My receiver is set to 6 ohms for the ns 777's as my main speakers. Does it matter that my rear surrounds (polk studio 50's) are 8 ohms?

Should I run the receiver at 6 or 8 ohms with them both hooked up?

Are the 777's 6 ohm? If so, I'd set your receiver to 6 ohm and not worry about it. Your surrounds are an easier load at 8 ohms and truth be told, there isn't a whole lot going on in the surrounds most of the time anyway. The mains are handling the majority of the load, so you'll be fine.
