Can I use digital coax for analog?

Kind of a stupid noobie question: Can I use an extra digital coax cable to hook up my sub-woofer? Can that cause damage to equipment or the cable?

As Dusty and Mark said, it will not damage anything. But you may want consider it as a temporary fix.

Digital cables (most have braid/foil shielding) are good for higher frequency, but their shielding might not be ideal for low frequency applications. For subwoofer connection, cables with double braid shield (such as Belden 1505F or Canare LV-77S ) are recommended as they excel in low frequency noise and interference protection.
