Cabasse recently took the wraps off its La Sphere speakers, which go for the budget-busting price of $150,000 per pair.
I ever seen speakers like these. It have 22-inch woofer, with an 8-inch Duocell ring design that is combined with a 5-inch midrange and 1.2-inch dome diaphragm tweeter. Manufacture claim that spherical enclosure eliminates standing waves and creates symmetry in every direction with no diffraction effects from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
It give a new meaning to the word “High End”.

We were thinking of a 7.1 system . . .

If it's good enough for stereo, I'll upgrade to 7.1. What is that, US$525,000 for the speakers, plus whatever for the Wilson Benesch Torus:

Looks like junk to me that some guy who worked for NASA slapped together when he was bored in space. I'll take The Gryphon Poseidon Speaker System without a second thought over this!

No, there's actually a very specific reason for (a) having the drivers axially aligned, and (b) using a spherical enclosure.

Looked it up, the Wilson Benesch Torus is only just under US$10K. A relative bargain.
So, I could do all that will a cool mil, and still have money leftover to buy a small house.

when you show a picture of them to somebody, not saying what it is, they probably think it's somekind of a design webcam, they look unique, but personally, my money would have gone to something else...
Greetings,
Bert.

That's a new push/pull subwoofer. Works on the same principle as magnaplanar.
