He may not be dissatisfied but no longer needing it. I kick myself in the arse once a week because I did not buy my neighbors Linn ttable. He would even let me make payments. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

maybe because it's in a bad position?
doesn't the closet thing keep the vibrations and sound waves in circulation, so that he has alot of rumble...

and it's full of dust!
but that's easy to clean,

besides that, I can't think about anything else, unless his deck is malfunctioning somehow...

nice sme arm though, would match great with my tt too...

Keep them spinning,
Bert.

...it's as JM states (going digital?) or he's got a case of upgrade-itis...

Most dyed-in-the-wool vinyl-philes might not go the first route, the second more plausible...of course, it may be being offered by his survivor...or maybe it's part of knowledgeable divestiture beforehand?

Based on what I'll characterize as sparse and dubious web info, the Linn SP12 TT, was introduced in 1973, although this one is said to have the '82 Valhalla update...a retrofit or all new in '82?. The included SME 3009 Series ll tonearm is a bit confusing. According to one site, SMEs after '72 went from "Series ll" to "Improved"... The stylus-shy Shure V15-IV was introduced in '78. The Revox unit on the shelf above it strikes me also as an older piece, maybe late 70s/early 80's with pushbuttons and the display that says "Tape 2" (TAPE 2??? That means more than one and maybe even dubbing ability!!! Unheard of these days)...and while I can't decipher a model number on it, I also don't see any source selector that seems to be marked "CD" or "Compact Disc"...but the resolution of the bitmap bites...

There's a similar set up going for $1100USD but the condition is described as "good"...This one looks "Dusty"...
