Hello guys!!!

First, I have a reciever/amp by Marantz which I bought about 4 years ago for around $2000US. ( I don't have the model # with me here ) I remember it has DTS. As you all can see my studio is very small. I am thinking of getting bose acoustimass 10 series 4. My friend said bose sucks! Also I'm quite afarid with all these wirings. I will need to drill holes through closets, etc. Shoudl I go wireless? I want good sound quality but I don't want to hurt my wallet! I am thinking to mount the rear speakers on the roof to save space. Why I think of bose? because I think their size is more suitable for my space.

Here are some pictures of my studio

That is a bold statement that your friend said they Bose sucks, there is nothing really wrong with bose, they are just overrated. But for your size room and what you want that size is pretty good. What might work for you as well are flat panel monitors. Bowers and Wilkins does make some flat planels, and also some smaller speakers aswell that might help you get what you want.

As for wireless, i would personally like to avoid if you can.

I don't know..I think your friend hit it spot on. Bose sucks, is way overpriced, and would be a poor choice, especially since you say that you want 'quality that does not hurt the wallet'. That right there alone rules out Bose.

But I agree with icarus...flat panels. B&W, Paradigm, Definitive. Any of them would be a great choice and will destroy a tiny cube system.

I also agree with icarus on wireless..avoid it.

My first step would be to check into these:

Well if you have a B&W dealer nearby, the flat panels aren't as much as you would think. According to the Canadian price guide from B&W they are:

VM1 $300
FPM2 $600
FPM4 $1000
FPM5 $1100
FPM6 $1300

And their inwalls all sit around the 300-500 range as well... and these are in Canadian Dollars.

Paradigms actually should be cheaper still... seriously look into it.

thanks guys!

I looked up at B&W and Paradigm. Their miniature speakers are still too big for my studio. Are bose speakers seriously consider over priced? Because I'm in Taiwan and the Bose here are almost double the price if you purchase through retailer. ( which I won't ) In general, B&W is much more expenisve than Bose, isn't it?

You do realize that Bose will actually cost you MORE, right?
