Hello there! :)
Has anyone happened to compare Onkyo tx-8211 (or any tx-8xxx) to Yamaha rx-397?
Yamaha seems to have better THD, other than that are they pretty much the same?

Updated: I understand rx-397 is 50w and tx-85xx are 100w, guess I meant to ask about 'sound quality' between Onkyo and the Yamaha. :)

Thanks!!

Read the small print on the Onkyo TX-8211 receiver:

Power Output (Stereo at 8 ohm, 20 Hz-20 kHz, FTC): 50 W/Ch
Dynamic Power** (4 ohm) 105 W/Ch
4 ohm Capable - no

This receiver isn't even capable of handling 4 ohm speakers, why would they state this specification? It really frustrates me that manufacturers would be so deceiving in their ratings. I'd be surprised if this receiver is even capable of 50 watts per channel.
