Room size is about 4000cu.ft. Using B&W 705's for mains, center and surrounds. Pushing them with Onkyo SX-TR 700. Looking for clean, tight, low and loud sub. Choices are Velodyne-SPL-1500R, HSU VTF-3 HO or SVS PB12-Ultra-SVS PB12-Plus 2.

That's a pretty nice room. 22x20x9? I would go with two 12" subs instead of one....
Does this room only have 1 door entrance, or just an open space?

I don't think you can go wrong with HSU,
Velodyne or SVS. I have 2 VTF-2's in my
main home theater (about 2000 sq ft, open
on one side to a kitchen) and they put out
more than enough quality bass. I also have
a old Velodyne ULD-12 in another listening area
and it has held up well (after 12 yrs of use). Build
quality is unsurpassed. Never heard an SVS, but
people on this forum and others love 'em.

Another route to go is DIY 15" Dayton Titanic MKIII sub
from Parts Express. Great sub for for $578 with free
shipping. Assembled it goes for $678. I just ordered
the 10" Titanic MKIII kit for a second, smaller home theater.
Should get it tomarrow. I think if you can walk and chew gum
at the same time, you can put these Dayton kits together.
Anyways another (possibly) way to go....good luck...vardo
